China Membrane Industry "13th Five-Year Plan" Science and Technology Innovation, Planning and Development Report and China Membrane Industry Association Fifth Third Expanded Council Meeting was held in Nanjing. In this meeting, China Membrane Industry Association announced the results of the 2015-2016 "China Membrane Industry Association Science and Technology Award", PTFE hollow fiber membrane high pressure contactor and application technology development won the first prize. Researcher Cao Yiming was invited to participate in the meeting and attended the award ceremony. The project "PTFE Hollow Fiber Membrane High Pressure Contactor and Application Technology Development" was completed by the Novel Membrane Technology Group of Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics (DNL0905 Group) and Petronas, and is mainly used in natural gas de-CO₂ process. In September 2014, the industrial field pilot plant in the natural gas purification plant located in the east coast of Malaysia for the first time successful trial, the CO₂ content of the product gas to meet the requirements of the contract indicators; September 2015, the development of the second generation of membrane modules to achieve a further significant reduction in the CO₂ content of the product gas, and to meet the requirements of the liquefied natural gas (LNG) processing, the pilot plant continuous operation of 1,200 hours, the parameters and indicators of the stability of the technology has entered the commercialization stage.

 

        On October 16th in Kuala Lumpur, the PTFE Membrane Contactor Sour Gas Removal Project was selected as the winner of the Oil and Gas Award. At the same time, the project was automatically shortlisted as a finalist for the Oil and Gas Award in the IChemE Global Awards 2017, and was the only project from a non-British or American country to be shortlisted. In addition, the project has been selected as a finalist for the IChemE Global Awards' Research Project Award 2017, which will be announced in the UK in November. This award is another important award for the project after the first prize of the 2015-2016 China Membrane Industry Association Science and Technology Award, which was awarded by IChemE (The Institution of Chemical Engineers), the global professional trade federation for the chemical, biochemical and process engineering and other related industries. IChemE (The Institution of Chemical Engineers) is a global federation of chemical, biochemical and process engineering and other related industries, with more than 44,000 members in more than 120 countries. Since 1994, IChemE Awards have been established in the categories of chemical engineering, biochemistry, etc., with one winner in each category each year. 2012 saw the establishment of the IChemE Singapore Award, and 2013 saw the establishment of the IChemE Malaysian Award, with the winners of the Singapore and Malaysian awards being eligible to compete directly for the IChemE Global Award.
